SAN DIEGO – Junior Daniella Hubble made history in the 3km steeplechase, setting a new school record and leading the Torero track & field team at the Aztec Invitational. This is now her second track & field record along with the mile.
 
"It was a wonderful night to be a Torero", said head coach Will Guarino. "We were hoping to see improvement and that's exactly what happened. Multiple personal records were achieved and a new school record was set. I am so happy for Daniella. She has worked so hard and has dreamed about holding this record, and it was great to see her put it all together in her first steeple of the year. Super excited for what's to come this season."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hubble led off the action in the 3km steeplechase, securing the 1st place finish and closing out with a 75-second last 400m, bettering her personal best by 24 seconds.
•  Aryam Jaimes kept the high marks going in heat 2 of the 1500m, running a personal best and the 12th all-time fastest time of 4:42.75.
• Maggie Duba delivered a stellar performance, clinching victory in heat 3 of the 1500m with a personal record time of 4:47.11.
• Heat 3 also featured personal record races from Lizzie McVey (5:00.11), Mia Marsh (5:00.19), Camryn Kozak (5:00.62), Allyson Kirby (5:00.93), Allie Lafferty (5:02.34), Maddie Holt (5:03.14), Nathalie Green (5:09.38), and Lilly Dow (5:14.70).
• The day was rounded out with personal records in the 3km by Gianna Sbarbaro (10:26.21), Jillian Lange (11:14.89) and Zoey Delgado (11:19.97).
• In total the Toreros finished the day with fourteen personal records, nine top 10 finishes, and a new school record in the 3km steeplechase.
