Kelvin Si Leads Way at the El Macero Classic in Davis

Senior finished tied for ninth, Toreroes place tied for second out of 18 at El Macero Country Club

DAVIS, Calif. — San Diego golf on Sunday afternoon finished tied for 2nd out of 18 teams in the El Macero Classic at El Macero Country Club. The Toreros recorded rounds of 298, 300, and 288 for a total of 886 strokes that were 22 over par.

USD was led by senior Kelvin Si who finished tied for 9th with a 4-over 220 (75, 74, 71). 

Senior Andi Xu was next at T-16, carding rounds of 76, 74, and 72 for a six-over 222. 

Junior Carson Enright finished tied for 25th (+8, 74, 75, 75, 224), followed by freshman Ryan Abuan at T-36 (+11, 75, 82, 70, 227), and graduate student Craig Ronne at T-42 (+12, 74, 77, 77, 228). 

Freshman You Seong Choi competed as an individual and finished tied for 42nd (+12, 82, 74, 72, 228). 

The Toreros are back in action on Thursday, April 25, when they begin play in the WCC Championships at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
