SAN DIEGO – Three members of the San Diego softball program have earned WCC All-Academic First Team honors, as
McKenna Braegelmann,
EJ Joyner and
Courtney Rose all have been named to the annual list, as announced by the conference on Monday.

The Toreros earn their most WCC All-Academic Team honorees since 2018. Rose earns the third honor of her career, while Bragelmann and Joyner take home their first award. In addition,
Mikalyn Emanuelli and
Emma Giaime earned honorable mention honors.

Braegelmann made her return to the circle this season after missing all of last season and did not miss a beat, going 5-7 with a team-leading 3.71 ERA over 68.0 innings pitched, while striking out 35. The Tacoma, Wash., native was named WCC Pitcher of the Week after her first appearance in the circle in well over a year and continues to pursue a biology major with a 3.67 GPA.

A native of Austin, Texas, Joyner has continued to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career, while playing a key role in the Toreros infield. A real estate major, Joyner earned her first WCC Player of the Week honors this season, while playing in 44 games. Joyner tallied five extra-base hits and 12 RBI while primarily playing second base.

Rose wins the third honor of her career after finishing off her collegiate career with another top campaign in the circle. Rose went 7-13 with a 4.10 ERA over 126.1 innings pitched, while striking out 97 and throwing four complete games. The Castro Valley, Calif., tallied a 4.0 GPA in her pursuit of a master's degree in leadership studies.
