RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — A three-under 67 from senior
Andi Xu on Tuesday afternoon kept San Diego golf in the hunt after round two at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional at The Farms Golf Club. The Rancho Santa Fe, California native carded three birdies as he put together the lowest score of the round and the second-lowest round of the tournament thus far. His performance vaulted him up 10 spots into a tie for third place among the players and held the Toreros in sixth place out of 14. The top five teams after tomorrow's final round advance to the NCAA National Championship North Course at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in late May.
Graduate student Craig Ronne was next at T-15 with a 1-over 71.Â
Freshman Ryan Abuan followed behind at T-25, with a second round performance of 2-over 72. Junior Carson Enright finished close behind at T-30, with a round two score of 4-over 74. Senior Kelvin Si is next tied for 61st (+13, 71, 82, 153).Â
In the first round the Toreros combined for a total of 285 strokes. On Tuesday the Toreros combined for a total of 284 strokes, putting them at a total of 569 strokes.Â
USD will continue play tomorrow morning, May 15, at 8:30 A.M. PST in the third and final round of the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional.Â
