Women’s Basketball Signs Rhodes Twins as Transfers

SAN DIEGO – Head coach Cindy Fisher and the San Diego women's basketball program have continued to add in the transfer portal, signing twins Hallie Rhodes and Jayden Rhodes as transfers for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

We are very excited to add Jayden and Hallie to our USD women's basketball roster," said Fisher. "Both of these ladies are intense competitors that know what it takes to win at a high level. Both will bring their own unique talents to our roster. They have had a great deal of success on the floor and in the classroom. I love the versatility and passion that they bring to the floor."

The sisters join the Toreros after spending their first two seasons at Morehead State, where they joined a team that came off a one-win performance in 2021-22 and improved them to a 15-15 record last season. Both sisters will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Hallie played in 60 games over her two-year stint at Morehead State, starting in 44 of those, where she averaged 8.3 points per game. Rhodes ranked second on the team in minutes played and field goals and averaged a career-high 10.7 points per game as a sophomore. Rhodes was particularly impactful down the stretch, scoring a career-high 26 points in a four-overtime win over Eastern Illinois back on Feb. 10.

"Hallie is a wing player who can go inside and out and has a great nose for the ball," said Fisher. "She is a slasher and a very capable scorer."

A gifted student, Rhodes was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team this season.

Jayden was a key piece of the rotation over her two-year career at Morehead State, playing in 59 games and starting in 24. Rhodes opened her career as the OVC Freshman of the Week back on Jan. 24, 2023, and only improved from there, playing key minutes for the improved Eagles squad. Her efforts down the stretch were critical for Morehead State, as she scored a key 13 points in the regular season finale against Lindenwood to finish with a winning record in conference play.

"Jayden is a power player who will be able to defend inside and out while bringing a toughness to the paint that will make her very difficult to guard," continued Fisher.

Both Rhodes sisters join a new-look Toreros side that features incoming freshmen Lilly Amor, Erica Carr, Dresha Moore and Eva Ruse, as well as transfers Ava Ranson, Truitt Reilly and Paris Santacaterina as new Toreros for the 2024-25 season.
