USD Women's Soccer Drops Road Decision at New Mexico

Toreros fall 1-0 to Lobos on Sunday afternoon

ALBUQUERQUE, NM. — San Diego women's soccer on Sunday afternoon began a four-game road stretch with a 1-0 loss at New Mexico.

The Toreros (0-3-2, 0-0 WCC) fell behind in the sixth minute, when UNM (3-1, 0-0 Mountain West) got on the board with a goal from Presley Devey.

USD goalkeeper Ilise Medrano kept things close down the stretch with a game-high four saves, including an impressive point-blank denial on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.

Senior midfielder Lexi Zandonella-Arasa recorded the Toreros' lone shot on goal, which came as part of an offensive effort that also included shots from Molly Quarry, Jenna Rubidoux, Tamia Graham, and Jenn Hashimoto.

New Mexico out-fouled San Diego 13-7 in the match.

The Toreros are back in action on Thursday, when they continue their swing of away matches with a 5:00 p.m. contest at California Baptist.
