LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego volleyball roared to life with a stirring comeback win over UC Santa Barbara on Sunday evening, catching fire late to erase a 2-0 deficit and beat the Gauchos by a 3-2 margin in the final game of the Jack Talmadge Classic at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
• The Toreros fell behind with 25-21 and 25-23 losses in the first two periods but responded with 25-23, 25-19, and 15-7 victories to steal the five-set win.
• Sophomore outside hitter
Nemo Beach scored 10 of her tied-for-career-high 18 kills in the final three frames to propel USD past the Gauchos, who were held to a meager .187 hitting percentage in the match by a San Diego defense that teamed up to record nine total blocks.
• Reigning WCC Freshman of the Week
Kennedy Osunsanmi tied a career high of her own with 14 kills to secure her fourth double-digit scoring performance in her first five college matches, and senior middle blocker
Haylee Stoner chipped in 11 while hitting a robust .320.
A RIVALRY, RENEWED
• Thursday night will mark the first clash between USD and former WCC rival BYU since November of 2022, and the two programs' first meeting in the Jenny Craig Pavilion since October of 2022. Last year marked BYU's debut season as members of the Big 12 Conference.
THE HUNT FOR A RANKED WIN
• This weekend, the Toreros have a chance to secure their first regular-season victory against a ranked opponent since defeating #18 BYU at Smith Fieldhouse in November 2022.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS BYU
• The Toreros are 12-14 against the Cougars all-time. The two programs' last meeting came in the final game of the 2022 regular season, when USD, then ranked No. 2 nationally, silenced a sold-out Smith Fieldhouse with a decisive win over 18th-ranked BYU in a nationally televised matchup to achieve an undefeated West Coast Conference record for just the second time in program history and the first time since 2004.
• USD most recently hosted BYU on Friday, October 21, 2022, when it swept the Cougars 3-0 before a crowd of 2,623 in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS OREGON
• The Toreros are 2-3 against the Ducks all-time, with the two programs' last meeting coming last August, when Oregon swept San Diego at the Stan Sheriff Center as part of the 2023 Hawaii Airlines Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Classic.
• USD and UO's last meeting prior to that came back in 1996, when the Toreros defeated the Ducks 3-0.
