RIVERSIDE, Calif. – San Diego Women's Soccer secured Greg Laporte's first win as head coach with a 1-0 victory on the road over UC Riverside on Sunday night.

It was senior midfielder
Lexi Zandonella-Arasa that scored the deciding goal in the 52
nd minute, slotting the ball bottom left past the goalkeeper of an assist from sophomore forward
Tamia Graham. It was both of their first points of the season.

Ilise Medrano and the Torero defense recorded their second clean sheet of the season. Medrano saved all three shots that came her way. USD has conceded just 1.37 goals per game through their first eight.
The Toreros out shot UC Riverside three-fold, 15 shots to six, six to three on frame.
San Diego (1-4-3) will look to build off the momentum ahead of their final non-conference match, a road contest with Cal. State Northridge on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m..
