BERKELEY – The San Diego women's soccer program (0-4-3, 0-0-0 WCC) couldn't get the job done on Sunday afternoon as they fell to the California Golden Bears (6-1-1, 0-0-0 ACC) by a 3-0 final score at Edwards Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The early portion of the match featured aggressive offensive play from the Golden Bears as they registered a total of six shots in the first five minutes of play, but didn't find the back of the net.
- San Diego was able to earn the game's first corner kick of the day in the 13th minute for USD's first quality scoring chance.
- Putting together a strong afternoon in goal, Ilise Medrano picked up her first save of the match in the 30th minute to keep the match scoreless.
- The first 45 minutes wrapped up with Lauren Tanner entering the match for the final three minutes of the half as it was a scoreless first half in Berkeley.
- California came out of the break strong and were able to take the lead nine minutes into the second half on a goal from Alexis Wright to make it 1-0 Golden Bears.
- In the 65th minute, the Toreros made a trio of subs as Lexi Zandonella-Arasa, Natalie Yoo and Jenn Hashimoto all entered the match.
- The Golden Bears scored their second goal of the afternoon in the 70th minute as Karlie Lema found the back of the net.
- California would go on to tack on an additional goal at the 80-minute mark to earn the 3-0 victory on their home pitch.

- Medrano matched her season-high with a total of six saves while facing 21 total shots against the Golden Bears.
- Kate Sealy led the way for her team tonight by playing in 85 minutes of game action against California.
