SAN DIEGO — Returning to their home pool for the second week in a row, the San Diego women's swimming and diving team put together a great effort to best Pepperdine by a 922-895 margin on Friday afternoon at the USD Sports Center Pool.
The Toreros had the first place finisher in 11 of the 19 events in the dual swimming and diving meet against their conference opponent on Friday. USD received a tremendous performance from
Jane Riehs as she earned scores of 243.75 and 240.75 in both sections of the one meter dive.
Additionally, San Diego came in first place in both the 200 and 400 meter freestyle relays as
Gabrielle Zinis,
Mallory Paine,
Ava Delaney and
Analeis Vos teamed up to win their races in both events.
Also excelling in the endurance portion of the meet,
Skylar Bruner turned in a time of 17:24.96 on Friday afternoon while racing against six other competitors.

USD swimming and diving will be back in action next week to face their crosstown rival San Diego State on Friday January 24 and Saturday January 25. The Toreros will host Friday afternoon's meet at the USD Sports Center Pool beginning at 2:00 p.m., while the Aztecs will host Saturday's section and will begin at 9:00 a.m. from the Aztec Aquaplex. All USD home meets are free and open to the public.
