Beach and Clark Help Toreros Tame Tigers, Win Fourth Straight

San Diego sweeps Pacific on Saturday afternoon to remain in tie for first place atop West Coast Conference standings

STOCKTON, Calif. — Nemo Beach and Isabel Clark teamed up to total 25 kills on Saturday afternoon, helping San Diego volleyball hit .351 as it cruised past Pacific in straight sets at the Alex G. Spanos Center to earn its fourth consecutive win.

The Toreros (11-4, 4-0 WCC) beat the Tigers (7-8, 1-3 WCC) by scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 to prevail for the eighth time in their last nine matches.

Sophomore setter Kylie Munday led all players with a game-high 34 assists, while Beach's 13 kills and 12 digs gave her a double-double for the fourth time in 2025.

Thirteen digs from Olivia Bennett and three block assists apiece from Ava Durgan, Kali Engeman, and BayLea Sparks headlined a dominant USD effort on defense that held UOP to a minuscule .091 hitting percentage on the match.

San Diego led for the majority of the afternoon, which featured just six lead changes. After an early 4-4 tie with the Tigers in set one, the Toreros embarked on a 7-1 run that led them to a match-high 13-point lead.

Set two was more closely contested but an 8-4 run through the middle stages of the frame that featured a trio of kills from Clark had the same effect. Pacific took a late timeout to try to halt San Diego's surging momentum before a kill from Sparks and a bad Tiger set gave the Toreros a 2-0 advantage.

Six kills from Clark and seven digs from Beach were the key for USD in set three, and though Pacific stayed within striking distance throughout the frame, the Tigers never led again after taking an early 1-0 lead. Beach broke a 16-16 tie with a clutch kill coming out of a timeout, sparking a 9-2 run to close the match that sealed San Diego's third sweep of the season.
