Noah James Invited to Compete at 2025 MLS College Showcase

The Poway native had a fantastic junior season as he was named to the All-WCC Second Team

NEW YORK — On Tuesday morning, Major League Soccer announced the 44 invitees to compete at the 2025 MLS College Showcase, taking place from Dec. 10-13 in Mesa, Arizona. USD junior midfielder Noah James was selected to compete at this week's event following his tremendous season where he was named to the All-WCC Second Team after transferring to compete back in his hometown.

The four-day talent evaluation event will give technical staffs from each MLS club an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 11:00 a.m. PST. The showcase is a closed-door scouting event officially sanctioned by the NCAA.

"Each year we see young breakout players who previously shined at the MLS College Showcase go on to make a meaningful impact at the first-team level," said Alecko Eskandarian, Vice President, Player Relations & Player Development. "This event is a crucial opportunity for our clubs to evaluate the nation's top collegiate talent, and we are thrilled to welcome these 44 standout individuals to a life-changing showcase in Arizona this year."

James started in all 19 of his team's games in the midfield as he totaled 1,653 minutes played while playing the full 90 minutes 13 times in his debut season as a Torero. Coming up clutch in one of the program's most thrilling victories, James both scored the equalizing and game-winning goals in San Diego's improbable victory over California Baptist in the team's home opener.

The San Diego men's soccer team will enter the 2026 season seeking their fifth straight West Coast Conference title after becoming the first men's soccer program in league history to four-peat.

Stay tuned to the team's website for more updates ahead of the fall season.
