TUCSON, Ariz. — No. 7 San Diego Men's Tennis fell to No. 14 Arizona on Thursday afternoon, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Wildcats at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona. 

The talented Wildcats team, ranked as high as No. 6 this season, jumped on the Toreros early from the doubles point on. Torero star junior Oliver Tarvet, the ITA All-American Champion and current No. 4 singles player nationally, entered the day undefeated but was forced to medically retire in the first set of his match vs. the nation's No. 3 player. The Toreros fall to 9-2 on the season while Arizona moves to 9-1.

In doubles, USD's No. 1 ranked doubles team in Stian Klaassen and Oliver Tarvet fell for just the second time this season, which was followed by a victory on court two for Arizona's 63rd-ranked duo to take the doubles point. 

A highly-anticipated top five matchup between San Diego's No. 4 ranked Tarvet and Arizona's No. 3 ranked Colton Smith on court one was cut short after Tarvet was forced to medically retire, forfeiting the singles point to Arizona to make it 2-0. 

Neo Niedner was then defeated on court six by a score of 6-1, 6-2 before the Wildcats clinched the victory on court two with a 6-0 win in set two from No. 8 Jay Fiend, after No. 44 Savriyan Danilov battled but ultimately fell 7-6 in the first set, losing the tiebreaker by a score of 7-2. 

Iiro Vasa's match on court three, which he was just a game away from securing over ITA No. 63 Zoran Ludoski, went unfinished as he led 6-3, 5-3, as did two other matches; No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
