SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego swimming & diving has announced a 14-date 2026-27 schedule that opens Sept. 18 at the Aztec Aquaplex and ends in February at what the conference bills as the largest championship meet in MPSF history.
San Diego State bookends the early weeks. USD races the SDSU/USD Pentathlon on Sept. 18 and the SDSU/USD Distance meet on Oct. 2, both 1 p.m. starts at the Aztec Aquaplex, before the first road trip of the year: the Pepperdine Invite on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, against a program the Toreros will see again in conference competition.
Oct. 17 splits the roster. The alumni meet fills the USD Sports Center Pool at 10 a.m. while MPSF Open Water runs at 10:30 a.m. in Long Beach.
November and December belong largely to the divers, who work through three invitationals in three different pools: the USC Diving Invite on Nov. 12-14 at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center, the Utah Tech Diving Invite on Nov. 18-21 in St. George, Utah, and the Bruin Diving Invite on Jan. 8-10 at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center.
The heart of the home schedule arrives in a five-week run after the new year. San Diego meets Cal State East Bay on Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex, then hosts the WCC Cup on Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. at the USD Sports Center Pool. Crosstown duals follow against San Diego State on Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. and UC San Diego on Feb. 6 at noon, both on the Sports Center pool deck. The Tritons are among the six programs, USD included, entering MPSF swimming & diving this season.
Championship season closes it out. The MPSF Diving Championships run Feb. 16-19 at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz., with the MPSF Championships following Feb. 17-19 at the Human Performance Center Pool in St. George. The conference expects a record field of 24 teams, 16 women's and eight men's, after six programs returned to MPSF swimming & diving for 2026-27. USD arrives as the 2025 runner-up, the product of the closest women's championship in league history.
Mike Keeler, who has led the Torero program since the fall of 1998, returns for another season on the pool deck.
