LIMA, Peru — A 2-0 sweep of Peru on Friday morning vaulted San Diego beach volleyball's Lauren Watson and Niki Egan into the quarterfinals of the 2026 FISU America Games.
The Torero duo — which was competing as Team USA — defeated the host Peruvians by scores of 21-8 and 21-12 to advance in the international competition. They'll take on Brazil in the semifinals at 8:30 AM PST tomorrow.
Elsewhere in Lima, USD/USA's Sam Herman and Maddy White defeated Argentina 2-0 (21-9, 21-11) to wrap up pool play before falling to the top-seeded Peruvian duo later in the afternoon, dropping a tough 2-1 decision by a 21-17, 19-21, 12-15 margin..
