SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego cross country has announced its 2026 schedule, a six-meet calendar that keeps the Toreros in California for all but one weekend and brings the West Coast Conference Championships to Mission Bay on Oct. 30.

The season opens Sept. 3 at the Aztec Coastal Classic, a 6 p.m. Thursday start at Mission Valley River Park and the only night race on the calendar. San Diego opened its 2025 season at the same meet.

Riverside becomes familiar ground in the weeks that follow. The Toreros race the UCR Ag Ops Course twice, first at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 19 at 7:50 a.m., then at the Highlander Classic on Oct. 17 at 8 a.m. Four weeks separate the two visits, giving head coach Will Guarino's group a rare second look at the same terrain before the postseason.

In between comes the lone trip out of the state. San Diego returns to the Louisville XC Classic on Oct. 3 at Tom Sawyer Park, where both Torero squads raced last October against one of the largest fields either program will see all fall.

The championship stretch then starts about as close to home as it gets. After a year in Spokane, the WCC Championships come to San Diego on Oct. 30, with a 10:05 a.m. gun at Tecolote Shores in Mission Bay.

Two weeks later the Toreros close at NCAA West Regionals, set for Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. at Arcade Creek Golf Course in Sacramento, the same course that hosted the 2025 regional.

The men's and women's programs compete on an identical six-meet schedule.
