AT USD: Hurst is a four-year volleyball letter winner, becoming one of the best all-around volleyball players in school history... Entering her senior season Hurst had twice been named an All-WCC player and ranked among the Toreros[apos] all-time leaders in both digs and service aces.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, California... Named Best Female Athlete at Stockdale as a senior... Lettered in basketball, softball and volleyball... Led Stockdale to numerous Southwest Yosemite League basketball championships... Was a three-time First Team All-Southwest Yosemite League selection as a prep basketball player and earned All-Area honors twice... Garnered All-Tournament and Tournament MVP honors during her senior season... Coached by Glenn Hager as a prep.
OFF THE COURT: Born September 3, 1983 in Bakersfield, California... Daughter of Clark and Ellen Hurst... Mother, Ellen, played basketball at Azusa Pacific and her father, Clark, played basketball at Air Force... Chose USD for it[apos]s great location... Also recruited to play volleyball by UCLA, Pepperdine, Stanford and Oregon.
