Asvolinsque brings a wealth of playing and coaching knowledge to the Toreros as a volunteer assistant in 2021.
 
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Rafael began playing volleyball at 11 years old as both an indoor and beach athlete. He has played alongside some of Brazil’s top-rated players, including Olympic Medalists and World Champions.
 
Since arriving in the U.S. in 2018 to pursue a coaching career, Rafael has coached athletes of all levels, both men and women. Most recently, he served as a coach for Coast Volleyball Club locally in San Diego.
