The 16th ranked University of San Diego volleyball team was swept by host and 5th ranked Pepperdine in Malibu on Friday night. Individual game scores went (30-17, 30-25, 30-24). San Diego (15-5; 4-2 WCC) was denied a share of first place in the West Coast Conference with Friday's loss. Pepperdine (16-2; 6-0 WCC) continued its string of league victories that dates back to the 2000 season. Devon Forster led the Toreros with 13 kills. Junior Kristen Hurst totaled a team-best 9 digs.
17th ranked Loyola Marymount (20-3; 5-1 WCC) will host San Diego on Saturday at 7pm. The Lions upset conference foe Santa Clara on Friday.
