(San Francisco, CA) - No. 25 San Diego remained alone atop the West Coast Conference standings after defeating San Francisco in four games (28-30, 31-29, 30-17, 30-21) Saturday night at War Memorial Gym. San Diego (12-4, 5-0 WCC) extends its current winning streak to six, hitting .300 on the night. San Francisco (9-13, 2-4 WCC) could not slow down USD senior outside hitter Devon Forster who slammed a match-high 22 kills.

As reported by USF Sports Information...

USF got a team-high 14 kills and 11 digs from sophomore outside hitter Theresa Hart, who tallied her 12th double-double of the season, while senior outside hitter Stephanie Voelckers added 13 kills and 15 digs for her 11th double dip of the season. Junior middle blocker KeLicia Shorts recorded 12 kills to go along with five digs (three solo).

San Francisco could not slow down senior outside hitter Devon Forster who slammed a match-high 22 kills on .241 hitting to go along with match best 18 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Emily Haas was another one of five Toreros to record 10 or more kills, adding 17 kills on .300 hitting. Senior right side Kristen Hurst tallied 15 kills and 17 digs for USD.

USF played well in the opening two games and maintained a two point cushion for most of game one and fought back multiple Torero rallies to take the opening set. The opener featured 18 ties and 10 lead changes. The Dons trailed early in game two, but battled back to tie the score late and forced three USD game points, but the Toreros held on to even the match at one game apiece.

From there it was all San Diego in game three as they built a large lead early and never looked back. USF recovered in game four, but the Toreros pulled away to secure their sixth straight win.
