(Spokane, WA) In the first of a three-game road trip, the women's soccer team tallied a 1-0 loss to #22 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs (11-3-2, 2-1-1) Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs lone goal came early on, when in the 21st minute junior mid-fielder Beth Drollinger received the ball up-field. She found sophomore forward Cristin Leverson on a cross-field pass. Leverson took the shot on sophomore goalie Karen Cook and scored.

USD marched down to Gonzaga territory in the 26th minute where they had four corner kick attempts in less than two minutes but were not able to capitalize on the opportunities.

In the second half, Gonzaga posted 8 shots and freshman goalie Brittany Cameron recorded 6 saves. The Toreros move to 4-10-0 overall and 1-3-0 in conference play.

USD travels to University of Portland for their match against the #2 Pilots on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 pm.
