For the second consecutive day the Toreros turned in dominating pitching performances. Freshman left hander Josh Romanski came in for the Toreros in relief in the seventh inning and picked up his first collegiate save not allowing a single hit and striking out three.
USD wasted no time in scoring as in the first inning Justin Snyder hit an RBI single up the middle, scoring Keoni Ruth, who had tripled, to give he Toreros the only run they would need.

Ryan Lilly then loaded the bases on an error by the Texas starting pitcher Kyle Walker. USD would add two more runs to round off the scoring, one in the fifth inning and the final run in the seventh inning.
Texas gave the Toreros a bit of a scare in the sixth inning. The Longhorns had runners at second and third, and with two outs Carson Kainer launched a rocket shot deep into left field, and freshman David Harris made a leaping grab at the fence to save the home run and retire the side, ending the Texas threat.
Walker (0-1) took the loss for the Longhorns allowing four runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings of work.
San Diego had five batters record multiple hit days, with Steve Singleton leading the way with his 3-for-4 one RBI performance
