Toreros Finish First Conference Match Up With Two Losses

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The University of San Diego posted a pair of conference losses, falling 13-2 in game one and 10-0 in game two Sunday afternoon at Smith Field.

In game one, San Diego struck early in the first inning when with one out, Carey Casciola singled through the left side. She then advanced to second base on a ground out by Kathleen Bonja, and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Virginia Fritsch reached on an LMU fielding error allowing Casciola to score for the 1-0 lead. USD gave up 13 runs through out the remainder of the game losing 13-2. In game two, San Diego posted a 10-0 loss.

Defensively for USD, Christina Haake is saddled with the loss and falls to 7-5 overall. Katie Jo Nelson picks up the loss in game two falling to 3-8 overall.

The Toreros move to 17-16 overall, and 1-3 in PCSC play. San Diego has a bye this upcoming weekend and will return to the diamond on April 14 and 15 when they travel to Santa Clara University to take on the Broncos.
