SAN BRUNO, Calif. — San Diego softball concluded the 2026 season with four West Coast Conference honors, the league announced Tuesday, as Kaitlyn Bartlow, Taylor Johnson, and Kaitlyn Wynia each received All-WCC Honorable Mention recognition and freshman Abrielle Diaz was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team.
Diaz, a Riverside, California native, capped an impressive debut season with a Freshman Team honor after batting .269 with 18 RBIs, two home runs, and five doubles across 30 games. The Grand Terrace High School product was one of the most productive run producers on the roster in her first year at USD.
Johnson, the 2024 WCC Batting Champion, earned Honorable Mention recognition after leading the Toreros in home runs (six), doubles (15), RBIs (26), and slugging percentage (.535) across 50 games. The senior finished her Torero career as one of the most accomplished power hitters in program history, with the fourth most career home runs in program history.
Wynia, who led San Diego in hits and batting average all season, was recognized for her consistency at the top of the order — batting .333 with 53 hits, 17 RBIs, and a .380 on-base percentage across all 51 games in left field, while posting a mere 17 strikeouts.
Bartlow, who posted a 4.71 ERA across 30 appearances and 16 starts while throwing 104.0 innings with three complete games and three saves, was honored for her durability and quality of outings throughout the 2026 season. The junior right-hander struck out 42 batters and held opponents to a .313 average, highlighted by a complete game against nationally-ranked Grand Canyon early in the season. Most recently, she delivered a dominant five-inning performance against Saint Mary's, holding the Gaels to just two earned runs and three hits.
