Final Stats
TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of San Diego softball team posted back-to-back victories Friday afternoon after day one of the Diamond Devil Classic in Tempe, Arizona. San Diego picked up a win against the Pacific Tigers and the No. 17/22 San Diego State Aztecs.
In game one, the Pacific Tigers picked up a three run lead early. USD cut the lead 1-3, and then scored a fourth run. San Diego scored five runs in the fifth inning, the tying run in the sixth inning, and the winning run in the seventh inning to take the game.
Against the Aztecs, USD again fell behind 2-0 on the bottom of the first inning. USD went on a hit parade in the fourth inning scoring four runs taking a 4-2 advantage over SDSU. San Diego allowed two runs in the bottom half of the inning and then allowed the game to be tied in the fifth inning. The Toreros finally posted two runs in the sixth inning to take the win outright over the Aztecs 6-5.
Carey Casciola, Lindsey Fleet, and Kathleen Bonja all tallied doubles against the Aztecs.
USD returns for the final game of the Arizona State Diamond Devil Classic to take on UC Davis at 11:00 a.m. and Utah at 1:00 p.m. from Tempe, Arizona.
