SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team recorded a seventh place finish overall at the Western Athletic Conference championship meet. San Diego tallied 248 points overall. Senior Sarah Gleason wrapped up the final day with a team high first place finish in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:47.18.
Jessica Rodriquez recorded a 12th place finish in 57.24 in the 100 butterfly event. She then took 13th place in the 200 butterfly with a 2:07.59. Teammate Sarah Geerdes took a top time in the 200 freestyle taking 7th place overall in 1:52.40. In the 100 freestyle, Geerdes took 4th place in 50.73. Kristen Yoon took 12th place in the 100 backstroke in 57.26 followed by a 12th place finish in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:06.03.
Gleason recorded in the 13th place in the 200 freestyle with a 1:52.44 followed by teammate Samantha Jafari taking 15th place at 1:53.19. Kristina Levesque finished in 1:07.73 in the 100 breaststroke. Haley Pittman took 14th place in the 200 breaststroke in 2:21.42.
In the 3 meter diving event, Monica Oddo scored a 235.80 for 13th place. In platform diving, Amy Bogart scored a 139.40 taking 16th place followed by Adelaide Bednarski in 17th place with a score of 135.30.
In the 400 freestyle relay, USD's "A" squad (Sarah Geerdes, Kristina Levesque, Erin Voyles, Sarah Gleason) took 8th place in 3:28.00. The "A" squad (Kristen Yoon, Haley Pittman, Sarah Geerdes, Kristina Levesque) took 7th place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:51.58.
