What has been your most memorable moment on the USD Swimming and Diving team?
Going to the WAC Conference meet is always so fun and rewarding.
How many years have you been swimming or diving? Talk about where you began swimming or diving.
8 years, I started diving competitively with Taylor Made Divers when I was about 11 years old.
Who has been the most influential person in your life pertaining to swimming or diving?
My parents, for always pushing me and supporting me throughout my career.
What has been your proudest achievement so far in the sport of swimming or diving?
Setting two high school records and diving for a Division I school.
How have you changed since you first begun swimming or diving?
Weight training at USD has really helped make me stronger and adds a new component to diving at the collegiate level.
What is your most embarrassing moment as a swimmer or diver prior to USD or as a Torero?
Breaking my ankle while doing a hurdle in the first dive of the practice when I was in high school. Fluke accident and a lame story.
What is the biggest difference between swimming or diving at the collegiate level and your prior experience in high school or on a club team?
The swimmers and divers are much closer friends, and you feel like you are actually a part of the team, compared to high school diving. Meets don't last for hours on end like in club diving, which is a good thing! You also get a lot more personal attention.
What goals have you set, either in the past or currently today, for yourself to achieve in swimming or diving?
My goal was to dive for a Division I school, and now that I'm at USD my goal is to move up as many places as I can at the WAC Conference meet.
Describe what it's like on a road trip with USD? What are some fun places the team has been, and what was your favorite event?
We have tons of fun traveling together - watching movies, going out to eat, being silly. We go all over California and Arizona to compete, and to San Antonio, Texas for our championship meet. Once we went to Knott's Berry Farm (amusement park) after a meet!
When you graduate, do you plan to remain involved in swimming or diving in any way?
Hopefully I'll be able to coach a team, whether as a job or just as volunteer work.
