LAS VEGAS, NV - The University of San Diego softball team suffered their four consecutive loss as they fell 10-2 against Boise State and 16-3 against Hawai'I on Saturday afternoon at the Louisville Slugger Classic. The Toreros fall to 3-5 on the season with one game to go on Sunday at the tournament.
USD quickly fell behind 4-0 to the Broncos. They cut the deficit 4-1 in the second inning when Cathy Wineinger hit an RBI double to right-center gap scoring Celeste Soto from second base. The Broncos took a 5-1 lead in the third inning as the Toreros responded in the fourth inning when Soto hit a lead-off solo homerun again cutting the Bronco's lead 5-2. However Boise State would post a five run fifth inning ending the game on the run rule.
In game two against Hawai'I, the Rainbows quickly took an 8-0 lead after two innings of play. San Diego battled cutting the deficit to 8-2 in the third inning when Danielle Duhart singled and advanced to second base on a Hawai'I error. Duhart made it home when Kristen Gensler hit a two-RBI homerun. Hawi'I would post one run in the third inning and seven runs in the fourth inning pulling away from the Toreros and ending the game in the fifth inning.
Gensler and Soto record their first homeruns of the 2010 season for the Toreros. Wineinger records her first double of the season.

San Diego returns for their final day against the University of Oregon Ducks scheduled for 11:15 a.m.
