Kelsi Myers led the team with 37 assists in helping lead USD to a .180 attack percentage. Kandiss Anderson, and Amy Mahinalani DeGroot paced the team's defense with 12 digs each.
In the first set, the Toreros jumped out to an 8-3 lead as a kill by Ashton Basch started things off and a CSF attack error capped off the run. The Titans then slowly began to chip away at the lead and would tie things up at 12 on a Torrie Brown kill. The two teams then sea sawed back and forth for a bit until CSF took set point at 24-23. A Colleen Carlson kill out of a Torero timeout then evened the score, but CSF would then take set point two more times before capturing the first frame 27-25.
In the second set, it was a close battle in the early going yet again, as both teams took their turn with the lead and neither team had a lead bigger than two. Then with the score tied at 13, the Titans used a 4-0 run to gain some momentum, and they would be able to maintain that lead as they captured set two 25-20 to go into the break up two sets to none.
In the third set, San Diego and Fullerton were again engaged in a close nit battle, but Fullerton proved to be too much to overcome, as they took advantage of a poor hitting night by the Toreros and completed the sweep with a 25-21 win.
The Toreros will return to action on Tuesday when they return home to host UC Riverside in the final match before West Coast Conference play begins next Thursday against Gonzaga University at 7 p.m.
