Toreros Fall 7-1 To Aztecs

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Toreros posted a 7-1 loss Sunday afternoon wrapping up their non-conference schedule against the San Diego State Aztecs at the USD Softball Complex. The Toreros are now 10-13 on the season headed into conference.

The Aztecs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the third inning including a four-RBI homerun. The Aztecs improve to 22-14 on the season with the win over the Toreros.

The Toreros responded with one run of their own cutting the SDSU lead down. With one out, Prelsnik hit a single and advanced to second base on a Kylie Ordos walk. Kristen Gensler single loading the bases for Megan Walsh who hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Prelsnik from third base. The Toreros were unable to produce any more runs in the game as the Aztecs took the win 7-1.

The Torero pitching staff recorded three strikeouts against the Aztecs in seven innings of work.

USD looks ahead to the opening of PCSC play starting April 9-10 at Sacramento State.
