After LMU tied the game up in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Lions loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning on a single, a walk and a infield single, then Nick Truhan drove in the winning run on a single to the shortstop, to give the Lions the win and sweep over USD.

The Toreros wasted no time in scoring as they pushed across one run in the top of the first inning. Kevin Muno led off the game with a double to left centerfield and he moved to third on an error. Kris Bryant then doubled down the left field line to score Muno and give USD a 1-0 lead.
San Diego then added to its lead in the top of the third inning by scoring three runs on four hits. Dillon Checkal got things started with a single to centerfield and he moved to second when Bryant drew a walk. Zack Kometani drove in Checkal with a double to left field, and that moved Bryant to third. Corey LeVier did the rest, as he hit a two-run single to give the Toreros a 4-0 advantage.
