LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's soccer team closed out the season with a 2-0 win over Loyola Marymount University Saturday evening in the final regular-season game of the season.

With the win, the Toreros conclude the regular-season with a 10-7-2 overall record, move to 6-3-0 in the WCC, and they have now won seven of their last eight matches. With the loss, the Lions finish the season with an overall record of 9-8-2, and they move to 2-5-1 in the WCC.

The Toreros will now await the NCAA selection committee's decision if they have qualified for the NCAA Tournament. That selection show will air live on NCAA.com this Monday at 1:30 p.m. Pacific.

The Toreros scored the only goal they would need in the 33rd minute of play, as Jacqueline Altschuld fired off a shot into the upper right corner of the goal, and into the back of the net to give USD the 1-0 lead.

San Diego had several other great scoring opportunities not go their way in the first half, as they completely dominated time of possession. The Toreros outshot the Lions 9-3 in the first half, and held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks as well.

San Diego then put the match out of reach in the 58th minute of action. Julia Sherwood sent a cross to the feet of Tara Meier, and she then put the ball into the high corner of the goal, and it sailed into the back of the net, to put the match at its final of 2-0.

USD out shot the Lions 12-8, and held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

McKenna Tollack and Michelle Craft both picked up the shutout win in goal for the Toreros, as they allowed no goals, and Craft had three saves. LMU's Sophia Leksan was saddled with the loss in goal for the Lions, as she allowed two goals and recorded three saves.
