SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Morehead State University baseball team (2-0) scored four unanswered runs to come-from-behind and defeat the University of San Diego, 8-5, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game at Fowler Park.
San Diego (0-2) got on the scoreboard first, as they managed to push across a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning on two hits. The USD runs came on an Aiden Stinnett two-run triple, which scored Austin Bailey, who had walked, and Bryson Brigman, who singled.
The Eagles then took advantage of a USD fielding error in the top of the second to cut the deficit to one, then they scored three more runs in the top of the third to grab the momentum and a 4-2 lead.
San Diego then went back to work in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings, as they scored one run in each of those innings to even the score at 4-all. Then a Brigman RBI groundout in the bottom of the seventh gave USD back the lead.
MSU then rallied back and score four unanswered runs, two in each of the eighth and ninth innings, to put the game at its final of 8-5.
