Kyle Holder of the baseball team has been named the USD Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 10 to Mar. 17. On Friday in the WCC home opener against Portland, Holder got things rolling with a double down the left field line and later led the way as he went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. On Saturday, Holder laid down a perfect suicide squeeze bunt in the bottom of the fifth inning to put USD in the lead. With the sweep against Portland this past weekend, the Toreros improve to 10-7 overall, move to 3-0 in the WCC, and have now won five in a row and eight of their last nine games

The Toreros will return to action on Tuesday, as they host the Cougars at Washington State University in a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Fowler Park.
