SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Toreros Women's Tennis team (1-0) defeated the UC San Diego Tritons (0-2) 6-1 on Saturday at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. USD swept all six singles matches in straight sets during today's meet.

Dana Oppinger and Drew Spinosa defeated UCSD's top pairing of Kyra Scott nad Britta Mosser 6-2 on the doubles court between two triton wins. Shani Blecher and Marta Stojanovic fell 6-0 while Colomba DiFilippo and Maria-Paula Torres dropped a 6-3 decision.

Senior Marta Stojanovic earned a point for USD in the one-spot with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat of Scott. Spinosa secured the first singles point with a strong performance against Jasmine Hosseini resulting in a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Oppinger, who earned the most singles victories on the team last season, followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alexandra Weil. Freshman Sophia Chow picked up her first dual match victory as a Torero after beating Mosser 6-3, 6-3 in the three spot. DiFilipo took the day's final match 6-2, 7-6(2) over Madison Hale.

Tomorrow the team will be back in action against Cal State Fullerton at 11:00 a.m.
