SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The University of San Diego baseball team dropped a 9-2 decision to UC Irvine Tuesday evening in a non-conference game at Fowler Park.

San Diego (15-12) then answered back in the bottom half of the first, as a Ryan Kirby solo home run tied up the game at 1-all.

Irvine then managed to score two runs on no hits in the top of the second inning. UCI scored their runs on back-to-back bases-loaded walks to Keston Hiura and John Bronstema, moving the score to 3-1.

UCI would then go on to score two runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, while USD scored one run in the seventh to put the game at its final of 9-2.

Offensively for the Toreros, Brhet Bewley led the way, as he went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
