Feb. 14, 2017 2017 PRO Compression Results 
Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. â€" The USD golf team hosted the 2017 PRO Compression Invitational at the Farms Golf Club (par 72; yardage 6,947) in Rancho Santa Fe the past two days. USD turned in an 8th place showing (12 teams) after finishing with a team total of 895. UC Santa Barbara won the team title at 852 (-12), while Yannick Emmert of Wichita State won medalist honors at 13-under par 203 (63-72-68).
Wichita State was runner-up in the team standings with a 3-under par total of 861. Rounding out the top-three was Cal Poly at 875 (+11). Aaron Beverly of Sacramento State finished by strokes back of Emmert to finish in second at 208 (66-70-72). Three UC Santa Barbara players rounded out the top-5; Brett Bennett (T3 at 210; 68-70-72), Zach Smith (T3 at 210; 66-68-76) and Willy Moffly (5th at 212; 72-69-71).
Senior Nick Baines turned in USD's best showing by placing 11th overall (68 golfers) with a three-round total of even-par 216 (72-69-75). He was followed in the team scoring by Daniel Lopez (T26 at 224; 75-76-73), George Gardner (T36 at 228; 76-78-74), Nathan Zhao (T41 at 231; 79-73-79) and Camilo Mexsen (T48 at 234; 81-78-75). A trio of Toreros competed as individuals â€" Dalton Hankamer (T38 at 229; 81-73-75), Regan Kilpatrick (T48 at 234; 76-82-76) and Zack Wagner (68th at 259; 78-88-93).
