USD vs CSF BOXSCORE MAR 15

SAN DIEGO â€" The USD Toreros dropped a 7-0 decision to visiting Cal State Fullerton tonight at the USD Softball Complex. Four Titans pitchers limited the Toreros to just two hits. The visitors were powered by CF Ariana Williams who connected on two home runs and 3 RBI. The Toreros return this Saturday to host CSU-Bakersfield in a doubleheader beginning at 12 noon.

Fullerton's Delynn Rippy opened the game with a single and stolen base and then scored on a Torero throwing error. The Titans added two runs in the third when Williams hit a two-run shot over the left field fence. In the 5th the Titans added three more runs as they opened the inning with three straight singles. Williams added her second homer in the sixth for the seventh run of the game.

For USD, Taylor Spence and Sara Silveyra each collected hits. Delaney Heller suffered the loss on the mound as she scattered 4 hits and gave up 3 runs (2 earned) in 3.0 innings of work. Megan Sabbatini (2.0 innings, 3 runs) and Lauren Berriatua (2.0 innings, 1 run) closed out the game. Besides Williams for CSF, the Titans' Delynn Rippy was 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs.
