SOUTH BEND, Ind. - San Diego gave No. 7 Indiana all it could handle but a Hoosiers goal in the 100th minute was the difference as the Toreros dropped a 1-0 decision on Sunday morning.
Indiana's Griffin Dorsey snuck a shot past Toreros goalkeeper, Thomas Olsen, from the right side of the field about 25 yards out.
It was a tough finish for the Toreros (0-2), which seemed to find its offensive rhythm in the overtime period, outshooting the Hoosiers, 4-1.
Olsen continued his strong play in goal for USD, making four saves on 15 Indiana shots and eight corner kicks.
The Toreros defense played well in front of Olsen, limiting the amount of opportunities the Hoosiers got on frame. Of Indiana's 15 shots, only five were on target.
Miguel Berry was the Toreros most dangerous target up top, registering a team-high three shots. Patrick McGrath generated two shots on goal forcing a pair of saves by Indiana's, Trey Muse.
It was a physical contest with 23 fouls called on the Toreros and four yellow cards shown.
After strong showings against two top-10 opponents, USD will look to carry its momentum into its home-opener next Friday against UC Santa Barbara at 8:30 p.m. (PT).
