SAN DIEGO – San Diego will look to remain undefeated in conference play and extend its Pioneer Football League winning streak when it travels to Butler on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.

The Toreros (4-2, 3-0 PFL) have won 24 straight PFL games dating back to Oct. 10, 2015. USD owns the longest active home winning streak among FCS teams at 19 games.

The Bulldogs will be looking to get back on track after dropping each of their past two PFL contests.

LAST TIME OUT

Anthony Lawrence threw for a season-high 434 yards and completed three touchdown passes to lead San Diego to a 36-34 victory against Dayton during the Toreros Homecoming and Family Weekend. Lawrence finished the day 29-of-44 for 434 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions and 35 rushing yards.

• Lawrence was named the PFL Offensive Player of the Week for this standout play against Dayton.

• The Toreros extended their home PFL win streak to 32 games and now hold the longest active home winning streak in the FCS at 19 games.

Michael Bandy made a team-high 11 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown. He was one reception and one yard short of his career highs. Bandy has gone over 100 yards receiving in four-of-six games and over 200 yards in two contests this season.

Emilio Martinez led the ground attack, rushing 18 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry. Martinez was also second on the team in receiving with five catches for 52 yards.Â

Jack Michael led the defense with 11 tackles, while brothers Daniel and
David Tolbert racked up eight apiece. David contributed two pass break-ups as well.

Jake Wittwer delivered the Toreros only sack on the day and
Nick Friedel also spent time in the backfield with 1.0 tackle for loss.

• USD's return game was strong with
David Tolbert returning three punts for 41 yards (13.6 avg.) and
Michael Armstead returning two kickoffs for 46 yards (23 avg.).

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST BUTLER
• USD is 18-5 all-time against the Bulldogs and have won each of the past six meetings. The Toreros defeated Butler, 38-17, in last year's contest behind a five-touchdown performance by Lawrence. USD went 6-for-8 on trips to the red zone and racked up 499 yards of total offense, averaging 7.0 yards per play.

• USD won the past two meetings in 2016 (W, 38-17) and 2017 (W, 44-10) against the Bulldogs by a combined score of, 82-27. However, the two previous meetings in 2014 (W, 27-21) and 2015 (W, 28-27) were decided by less than a touchdown.

LOOKING AHEAD
• The Toreros return home for a 1 p.m. meeting with Jacksonville. It will be the annual Purple Saturday game, as the team supports domestic violence awareness.
