SAN DIEGO – San Diego will be featured on ESPNU, celebrate head coach
Jennifer Petrie's 20th year and support breast cancer awareness during two volleyball matches this week.

The Toreros (9-9, 6-2 WCC) open the week on Thursday at 8 p.m. PT against Pepperdine in a match featured on ESPNU. Sam Gore will provide the play-by-play and 2000 Olympic gold medalist, Dain Blanton, will be on the call.

Prior to the match, the Toreros will congratulate Coach Petrie on her 20th year leading the USD program.
Â
USD will compete for a cause on Saturday during its annual Dig Pink match in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Toreros will wear pink jerseys during their noon match against LMU and are raising funds to support the cause.

The match against Pepperdine will be broadcast on ESPNU and the match against LMU will be streamed on theW.tv. Live statistics will be available via USDToreros.com.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros got back on track last week, going 2-0 and sweeping both of its matches at Santa Clara and San Francisco.

Addie Picha recorded 11 kills and 6 blocks to lead San Diego to a 3-0 victory over Santa Clara. The senior middle blocker hit .647 in the match, as USD outlasted the Broncos in three closely contested sets. San Diego won 25-22, 26-24, 26-24.

Katie Lukes also made significant offensive contributions with nine kills apiece.

Laura Madill provided a majority of the Toreros assists with 23 and 17, respectively.

Roxie Wiblin recorded 10 kills apiece to lead San Diego to a 3-0 victory over San Francisco. May, hit .526 in the match to lead the Toreros to a, 25-12, 25-18, 25-20, sweep of USF.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PEPPERDINE
• USD holds a 30-39 record all-time against Pepperdine but the Toreros have won 11 of the past 12 meetings. USD won both of last year's contests by scores of 3-2 and 3-1.

• The Toreros are 40-39 all-time against the Lions and have won each of the past five meetings. USD defeated LMU earlier this season in Los Angeles, 3-1.

Roxie Wiblin leads the team with 176 kills (2.71 per set).
Lauren Fuller is second on the team with 165 kills (2.80 per set), followed by
Addie Picha with 144 (2.22).
