SAN DIEGO – San Diego plays host to two double-dual meets at the WCC Cup. Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine will face USD at the Sports Center Pool for meet on Friday at 2. p.m. (PT) and Saturday 10 a.m.

• UC Davis outraced the Toreros in a dual meet 196-104.
• Alex Hubel won both of the butterfly events, posting a 2:05.1 in the 200 fly and 56.04 in the 100 fly.
• Dani Taylor collected the other wins for USD, placing first in the 200 free, 1:54.43, and the 100 free, 53.01.
• Sam Terranova, Mackenna Briggs, and Grace Potis finished 2-3-4 in the 1,000 free posting times of 10:39.22, 10:42.62, and 10:48.82 respectively.

TEAM BREAKDOWN

• The Toreros boast a balanced lineup, returning 18 swimmers from a year ago and adding 13 freshmen. 
• Mackenna Briggs, Kailyn Evans, Danielle Taylor, and Alex Hubel return for USD after earning All-MPSF honors a year ago. The quartet broke three school records last year in the 200 medley relay, the 400 free relay, and the 800 free relay. 

WINNING IN THE CLASSROOM

• The Torero Scholar-athletes excelled in the classroom last year earning CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors, for having a 3.18 team GPA during the fall semester of 2017.
• The award caps an impressive academic year, which also accumulated 10 MPSF All-Academic honors. The returners who received the awards were Allie Andrade, Mackenna Briggs, Melinda Henesy, Alex Hubel, Liza Kuznetsova, Elizabeth Petty, Eva Ratcliff, Danielle Taylor, and Samantha Terranova.

 
Head coach Mike Keeler returns for his 20th season and Jaclyn Rosen returns for her second year as assistant coach.
