MORAGA, Calif. – Roxie Wiblin recorded her sixth double-double of the season but San Diego fell to Saint Mary's 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Saint Mary's took a 2-0 set lead and despite a late San Diego rally in the third set, the Gaels (18-9, 10-7 WCC)Â swept the match, 25-20, 27-25, 25-22.Â

The Toreros (16-11, 13-4 WCC) hit .217, paced by Wiblin with 15 kills and
Katie Lukes with 12.
Addie Picha recorded all three of San Diego's blocks, while Wiblin and
Kelli Barry led the defense with 12 and 14 digs respectively.
The Toreros hurt themselves early on, committing 13 hitting errors in the first set and hitting just .078.

SMC took an early 7-3 lead to start the second set but USD rallied back behind the aggressive attack from Lukes and Wiblin. Lukes rattled off back-to-back kills to put the Toreros in front 20-19 before Wiblin brought USD to set point 25-24 with a kill high off the hands of the SMC block.

The Gaels answered immediately with three straight points to take the second set and a two-set lead in the match.Â

The Toreros kept things close in the third set, tying the Gaels, 9-9, before two hitting errors and a kill by SMC's Sarah Chase gave Saint Mary's the 12-9 advantage.Â

San Diego battled back and took the lead late in the set, 18-17, on a kill by
Laura Madill, but the Gaels attack proved to be too much for the Toreros and SMC took the set and the match.

San Diego will conclude the regular season on Tuesday vs Pepperdine. The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be played at Wooden Center at UCLA.
