SAN FRANCISCO—San Diego earned its 13th sweep of the season in a, 25-23, 25-18, 25-14, victory over San Francisco on Thursday night in War Memorial Gym.

The Toreros (19-5, 12-1 WCC) hit .271 as a team, led by Thana Fayad and Katie Lukes who both reached double-digit kills. USD took the earlier meeting with the Dons (6-17, 2-10 WCC) in straight sets to sweep the season series.

Fayad registered her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with match highs in both kills (13) and digs (12). Lukes added 11 kills, hitting .500 in the match. Megan Jacobsen and Grace Frohling chipped in eight and six kills respectively.

Anna Newsome collected 36 assists and finished with a team-high three aces. Frohling continued to apply pressure at the service line, adding two aces.

USD put together a 7-1 run midway through the second set, including four kills from Lukes to take a 16-10 lead. The Toreros maintained a five-point lead down the stretch, before a three-point run topped with an ace from Newsome finished the set and put USD up 2-0 in the match.
