SAN DIEGO – Five San Diego swimmers combined for seven top-three finishes in a dual meet at UC San Diego but it was not enough as the Toreros fell 153-112 on Saturday afternoon.

Danielle Taylor and
Kailyn Evans logged two top-three finishes apiece. Evans registered the Toreros only first-place result on the day, going 1:04.75 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Evans added a third-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:11.79.

Taylor finished second in the 50 freestyle (24.59) and third in the 200 free (1:55.19).

Olivia Adey touched in at 2:15.42 in the 200 backstroke to finish second.

Allie Andrade and
Mackenna Briggs added third place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.38) and 500 free (5:14.20), respectively.

USD also registered third-place finishes in both relay events. The quartet of Taylor, Evans,
Maeve Murdoch and Briggs went 1:47.34 in the 200 medley relay.

Taylor, Alexa Philips, Murdoch and Briggs teamed up to in the 400 free relay and touched in at 3:40.41.

The Toreros return to action next weekend for a three-day competition at the SD Imperial Senior Classic.
