SAN DIEGO – San Diego begins a six-game homestand this weekend when it plays host to Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday and Sunday.

The Toreros (9-14) will open the three-game series against the Roadrunners (7-10) with a double-header on Saturday beginning at noon. The series concludes Sunday at noon.

USD went 2-2 last weekend at the Highlander Classic at UC Riverside. The Toreros opened the tournament with a pair of wins against Omaha. USD dropped tough back-to-back one-run decisions against Houston and UC Riverside to conclude the weekend.

Cal State Bakersfield enters the weekend on a three-game losing streak.

Sara Silveyra leads the Toreros with a .400 batting average, followed by
Taylor Spence (.393) and
Lindsay Clare (.333). The trio have started all 20 games this season, along with freshman
Kelli Kufta.

Silveyra has produced a team-high 12 RBIs, while
Madison Casiano and
Shelbi Evans have contributed 10 apiece.

Madison Earnshaw and
Delaney Heller have contributed a majority of the innings in the circle at 44 2/3 and 42 1/3, respectively.
