SAN DIEGO – San Diego begins WCC play this week when it hosts Pacific for a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.

The Toreros (15-18) open the weekend with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon PT. The series concludes on Sunday at noon.

USD went 1-3 last weekend at the Fresno State Invitational, splitting a pair of games against Cal State Bakersfield and dropping two decisions against Fresno State.

The Toreros are led offensively by
Taylor Spence who is hitting .364 on the year with 26 runs and 14 walks. Spence has 219 career hits and needs 14 hits to break the school record, held by Shaunna Collo (1997-2000). Spence currently ranks third all-time.

Delaney Heller have split a majority of the innings for the Toreros in the circle. Earnshaw holds a 5-8 record and a team-high 71 strikeouts. Heller is 8-7 and has permitted just 18 walks in 74.0 innings.

The Tigers (14-18) have lost five games in a row and will take on California on Wednesday before heading down to San Diego. Madison Kahwaty leads the offense with a .308 batting average. Hailey Reed paces the pitching staff with a 6-6 record and 2.16 ERA.
