GAME ONE - NO. 16 ARIZONA STATE
The Toreros got a boost from senior
Sara Silveyra, who racked up three hits in a 14-2 loss to the No. 16 Sun Devils.

Silveyra's three-hit day led the Toreros offensively as San Diego strung together 10 hits on the evening. Sophomore
Rion Simms put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Senior
Madison Casiano also helped out for San Diego, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.

The Toreros were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Casiano came through with two outs in the leadoff spot with an RBI double cut the Sun Devils' lead to one.

Both teams remained scoreless through the fourth before Arizona State's offense exploded at the top of the fifth. The Sun Devils tacked on four more runs before creating a 14-1 advantage heading into the bottom of the seventh.

The Toreros refused to go quietly as Simms' blasted a one-out solo home to add another run for San Diego. USD continued to make solid contact in the inning but was unable to get any closer as ASU solidified the victory.

GAME TWO - TEAM USA
The Toreros participated in the Stand Beside Her Tour as a part of the nightcap at the Mary Nutter Classic. San Diego softball faced Team USA in an exhibition game as a part of the team's preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games.

USD faced former Oklahoma All-American Keilani Ricketts in the circle as the Toreros made solid contact at the top of the first with three ground outs.
Madison Earnshaw got the start in the circle for the Toreros and issued one walk before Valerie Arioto connected to create a 4-0 edge for Team USA.

Hayley Hensley and
Kelli Kufta both reached in the top of the second to put runners on for San Diego, but the Toreros couldn't push them across.

Delaney Heller made quick work of Team USA in the bottom of the second, issuing no hits and registering a strikeout. Courney Rose and
Halle Kyler also received opportunities in the circle before the end of the contest.

The Toreros rallied in the top of the fifth as
Rion Simms smashed a single up the middle to load the bases. San Diego was unable to push a run across as Team USA took the exhibition 14-0.

San Diego will take on New Mexico and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday to finish up action at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. First pitch is set for noon and 7:30 p.m. (PT).
