SAN DIEGO— San Diego will host California Baptist in its midweek game before beginning WCC play at Portland this weekend.

The Toreros (11-4) will take on the Lancers (7-7) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT at Fowler Park. USD will then travel to Corvallis, Ore. to face the Pilots (12-4) on Friday (6 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.).

Portland will be hosting the Toreros at Goss Stadium on the campus of Oregon State while its stadium undergoes a remodel this season.

Tuesday's game will be streamed via the WCC Network. No live streams will be available for the weekend series at Portland, however games will be broadcast via Portland's radio stream. Live statistics will be available for all games on USDToreros.com.

LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego went 2-2 in its week four Indiana road trip. The Toreros fell on Tuesday at Indiana State, 5-1 before taking the three-game series at Indiana, 2-1. USD dropped the first game of Saturday's double header with the Hoosiers, 9-2 before bouncing back to take the next two games, 6-2 and 13-5.

Adam Kerner finished the week 8-for-15 (.533 avg) with two runs and five RBIs for the Toreros. The junior catcher appeared in all four games for USD—making three starts—and collected two doubles, a home run and one walk, with a .563 on-base percentage and .863 slugging percentage.

Carter Rustad (4-0) earned his fourth win of the early season in a 6-2 victory at Indiana on Saturday evening. The freshman threw 6.1 innings for the Toreros, collecting a new season-high nine strikeouts, while allowing one run on two hits and one walk. Rustad ranks among the top pitchers in the country with a 0.84 ERA this season and has allowed five hits in 21.1 innings of work.

• USD brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game at Indiana State but could not complete the comeback in a 5-1 loss.
Cody Jefferis drove in the lone run for the Toreros, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
Brycen Mautz (0-1) got the start on the mound, throwing three innings and allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

• The Toreros struggled to get going at the plate in game one of Saturday's double header, falling to IU 9-2.
Adam Lopez led the way, going 2-for-4 and scoring a run for USD.

• After walking the leadoff runner in the first inning, Rustad retired eighteen Hoosiers in order including a string of five consecutive strikeouts to lead USD to a 6-2 victory on Saturday evening. The right-hander held a near perfect game through six innings before allowing a leadoff single in the seventh to break up the no-hitter. Kerner finished 3-for-4 with a double, a solo home run, a walk and two RBIs.

• The Torero bats came alive in the finale, racking up 16 hits in a 13-5 victory over the Hoosiers. Kerner and Lopez led the Toreros offensively, each collecting three hits and three RBIs. Lopez got his first career home run with USD—a solo shot to left field—and Kerner added an RBI double.
Grady Miller earned his second win of the season, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on three hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
