SAN DIEGO - The Toreros (19-10, 13-5 WCC) will open up postseason play in the West Coast Conference Tournament semifinals. San Diego will take on the winner of BYU and game four on Monday at 2 p.m. (PT).

The Toreros earned the triple-bye with a victory against Pepperdine in the regular season finale. San Diego clinched the No. 2 seed, winning the tie-breaker against BYU with a sweep of Portland.

Head coach
Cindy Fisher was named the WCC Coach of the Year and is only one victory away from securing her seventh 20-win season at the helm.

Monday's semifinal can be watched on the
WCC Network. In addition to the WCC Network, the game will be broadcasted on NBCSports Bay Area, Root Northwest, AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain and BYUtv. Spencer Linton and Kristen Kozlowski will have the call.

AT THE WEST COAST CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
• Since the 2014-15 season, San Diego is 4-5 in the West Coast Conference Tournament.

• The Toreros last visit to the semifinals came during the 2017-18 tournament as USD successfully made it to the championship game before falling to Gonzaga 79-71.

• San Diego has won the WCC Championship three times in program history with the most recent coming in 2008. The Toreros defeated Gonzaga for the conference title inside the Jenny Craig Pavilion before the tournament was moved to Las Vegas.

• The last time San Diego was ranked No. 2 for the WCC Tournament occurred in the 2014-15 season. The Toreros won the quarterfinal against Santa Clara, 51-42, before falling to San Francisco in the semis, 65-57. San Diego then went on the WNIT, making it to the second round.

• The 2019-20 campaign marks the first time San Diego has earned automatic berth into the semifinals via the triple-bye as the No. 2 seed.

DEFENSIVE PROWESS
• San Diego has consistently ranked as one of the top defenses in the country this season. Prior to the WCC Tournament, the Toreros rank eighth in NCAA Division I in steals per game.

Myah Pace has shined on the defensive end of the floor this season, tallying 85 steals on the year. The junior guard currently ranks second in the WCC in takeaways.

• Five players have recorded at least 30 steals on the year to help create depth on the defensive end of the floor.

• As a team, San Diego ranks among the best in the conference defensively. The Toreros are No. 1 in defensive rebounding percentage and steals, second in rebounding defense, and third in scoring defense.

• The Toreros also rank fourth in the WCC for three-point defense holding opponents to only 135 made threes out of 450 attempts. San Diego has allotted the second lowest number of attempts from beyond the arc in the conference.

AMONG SAN DIEGO'S BEST
• Junior guard Pace solidified her place among San Diego's best after breaking the single-season steals record against Pepperdine.
Maya Hood set the mark during the 2015-16 campaign with 84. Prior to Hood's performance, no one had surpassed the single season mark set in 2008 by Amanda Rego. In her career, Pace has collected 155 steals so far and is only seven away from entering the career record list.

Patricia Brossmann has also continued to climb the record books, now sitting 8th all-time in career rebounds in 644. The Berlin, Germany native is tied for 7th in defensive rebounds and sits in 5th all-time for offensive boards. In the single-season records, Brossmann is only 16 boards shy of entering the offensive rebound category.

• Redshirt junior
Jordyn Edwards is also close to entering the single-season record books in a few categories. She is currently 20 assists away from entering the top-10 and holds a .857 free throw percentage to currently place her 7th.

PACE'S POINTS
• Pace has led the San Diego offense all season and currently leads the team in points per game (11.6). She has recorded 18 double-digit performances this season with a streak of six games running from January 16 to February 1.

• In conference play, the Toreros have won 11 games when Pace enters double figures. This leaves only two conference wins where the junior guard has not accounted for a majority of San Diego's offense.

• Pace earned All-WCC first team honors this season along with All-Academic recognition.
